What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

So i remember in high-school (2014ish) i started reading this book about a girl who had come in possession of a sword. I cant seem to remember much about the plot at all besides the fact that there was these gods or higher beings or spirits in these swords or something and the dragon spirit (or whatever) was abandoned yet her sword seemed to resonate with it? Does that ring any bells for anybody?
