Hey folks, I'm working on a book and I think the first act is too slow.

I'm looking for beta readers to give me feedback on the first few chapters, as well as a prologue I'm not sure I want to include. It's more suspenseful and exciting, which is good to get people on board, but it's about a character that, while major, shows up ~20k words in.

Even if you start it but get bored partway through, leaving a brief comment on the page you stopped at would be really helpful so I know which parts I need to tighten up.

CW: Anxiety/Panic attacks, drug references.
