Hello! I host a queer horror lit book club and while I have a large to-read and list of recommendations for it, I was wondering if anyone else had any LGBTQ+ books in the horror genre that they adored and would recommend.

I loved Hell Followed With Us!! It was actually the first book our group read. The Spirit Bares Its Teeth is on my list as well
@MegI heard mixed reviews on The Last Girls Standing, but it is on my list. Did you think it was good?
I also liked Gideon the Ninth!
A lot of great suggestions in this list
These are kinda old but I 100% enjoyed reading and re-reading Gerri Hill's Johnston & Riley series (F/F). There are only 2 books in the series: Keepers of the Cave and Weeping Walls and they're both fun, fast-paced, AND scary (you may want to check out the audiobook, Abby Craden is just superb!)Another oldie rec is JR Ward's M/M paranormal romance called Lover at Last.
A more recent one is Carmen Maria Machado's Her Body and Other Parties: Stories. It's a collection of horror short stories and definitely queer.
A couple more horror recs:
The Last of the Loudens - sapphic romance AND ghosts
Sylver and Gold - more on the crime/mystery side but with a paranormal twist. still sapphic.
Thanks to the other recs as well, I am now piling my tbr with more and more reads!
Hey KateLynn. It's not hardcore horror, but Our Wives Under the Sea was spooky/psychological. There's also the classic Carmilla which is one of my favorites. Best of luck and update us with which ones you liked
RISE OF THE QUEER VAMPIREShttps://a.co/d/9GktFxe
Immerse yourself in the alluring realm of 'Rise of the Queer Vampires,' a fresh take on gay erotic fiction. The narrative centers around Antonio De Luca, an Italian youth grappling with his sexual orientation amidst the strict moral codes of his Catholic upbringing. His search for temporary comfort leads him to anonymous sexual encounters, providing fleeting moments of liberation.
However, Antonio's life veers off its usual course one fateful evening when he crosses paths with a mysterious stranger who transforms him into a vampire. This sudden and dramatic change propels Antonio on a heart-stopping journey filled with danger, self-discovery, and an unquenchable thirst—for blood and love.
'Rise of the Queer Vampires' weaves together sensuality, danger, and suspense, crafting a tale that is as titillating as it is thrilling. Each page is brimming with erotic energy that will ignite your imagination and bring your fantasies to life.
Where Sleeping Girls Lie by Faridah Abike-Iyimide is an excellent queer focused horror murder mystery. YA friendly, but delves into a ton of topics and the boarding school setting is perfectly claustrophobic. The audiobook was more chilling than the physical due to some recording choices that were, chefs kiss, perfect. If you are looking for more adult content, The Dead Take The A Train from Cassandra Khaw and Richard Kadrey was delightfully grotesque and queer, reminiscent of cyber-punk genre but with demons both good and bad. Another one I liked was Prophet, by Sin Blache and Helen Macdonald. Following two queer special agents trying to solve the mystery of an unknown substance that is holding people catatonic. Fever dream, trippy, sometimes outrageous horror, with intimate relationship development and super steamy bits.
squad by (this might be very, very wrong and horribly spelled i apologize) maggie tokida hall (i really hope thats it gosh) its ya, and i didnt really find it scary but i think its supposed to be horror....
also it's a graphic novel so it does have a lot of blood, some homophobic language (no slurs), and what would technically be considered nudity, but not really.
i just read one and it was incredible! it's called The Bayou by adren powell and its atmosphere and storyline was so good :)
In order of highest rated to least (all recommended):Feast While You Can - Mikaella Clements
The Woods All Black - Lee Mandelo
Tell Me I’m Worthless - Alison Rumfitt
Empire of the Feast - Evan D.G. Fraser
Haven't read yet, but definitely intrigues:
But Not Too Bold - Hache Pueyo

I'm very much looking forward to reading more by the author, Arden Powell who identifies as a "nebulous entity". Gotta love it.
I wanted to love Blood on Her Tongue
by Johanna van Veen but liked it instead.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I haven't read it yet but Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle sounded promising. I'm not a horror fan but the premise got me interested. It's about an author in Hollywood being pressured into killing off gay characters. It explores corporate greed while being a thriller.
Recent release, I haven't read it: Hungerstone
by Kat Dunn. A feminist reworking of Carmilla, the 1872 novella about a lesbian vampire that reportedly inspired Dracula.
