Callista | 1 comments Okay, so I just finished a book, and while I really enjoyed it, it was a very draining book to read with how much energy I had to put into reading it. And because I feel so mentally drained, I'm a little worried I might fall into a reading slump, which is not something I want. So my question is, what do you guys do after you read a book that drains you to keep you from entering a reading slump?

i would reread one of my favorite books or pick up a book that seems short, lighthearted, face-paced.

I would personally buy a new book haha.

The first thing would be to understand why you thought that the book was draining. So you can avoid it in the future. For example, for me it is when the world building is not existent (or not developed enough) or when the sense of humor doesn't match mine.

I am not the type of person that re-reads books often. But if you have a favorite book, read it again ;).

If I were to buy a new book, I would either buy one from my favorite author, or a book I have been wanting to read for ages, or just based on its cover (even if I won't like it, at least my shelf will look good haha).
