Esmé was picking flowers and tossing them in a bowl with ice and honey in order to create a new skin cream for her makeup brand.
Cal walked down stairs to head to school, but before he always went and said goodbye to his mother. "Hello mother." He planted a Kiss on her cheek. "Hello my dear now I hope you have a good day make our family proud." That was always our saying. Since my dear brother still lives in D2 I must uphold our family legacy here.
Cal headed toward the picture of his family. All together not split like now. Graham is with Father in District 2 while He is with His mother in the Capitol. And then saw the girl he now despise with all he is.
Cal started doing what he use to love to do the most. Throwing Dangers. He hasn't done this for years, after he left the District 2. Because of her. The girl that ruined me. He kept throwing them until he broke the target. When it happened he smiled. And headed to a dummy and started punching it.
Cal's thoughts messed him up. He didn't bother to heal the up coming bruise. He can't get her out of his thoughts. He can't get Astra out of his life.
"Well someone can't mind there own buisness." He snapped. He knew he had anger issues. He knew it cause he is always reminded. He then went to a different dummy a threw knives at it.
He kept throwing them until there were nowhere else to throw them. He went and took out the knives from the dummy.
"What the absolute heck girl. Are you some Killer." Cal said. Why did that girl even do that. He then started back his throwing to take his anger out.
"ha you know there are cameras right. Oh wait no your just a low life D1 Citizen aren't you? Like the rest of the D1." Cal hates the Capitol, sure it was pretty filled with riches and history but deep down The capitol hides secrets. He then walked out of the gym.
Cal headed toward the park where he can read his new book he got. He sat down on the grass knowingly ruining his grey pants and the white button up shirt he put on before leaving. He started reading in the nice bright sun.
He was reading a book a former friend gave him. It reminded him of his previous home District 2. How he would die to go back and face his demons there, but no he has to be stuck in a prettier hell. The book was about weaponry which ones were the most efficient. And which was would never help in a war or fight.
The stage of the reaping ceremony was just above the crowd's heads, raised, as though superior to the citizens of the District. The crowds stretched nearly as far as the eye can see, all scared, and worrying with far and few between hopeful people. There's a man on the stage, smiling broader than anyone thought was possible, but it's a sickly sight in this place of despair. The Peacemakers stand rigid, ready to walk out into the crowds and 'make peace'. There is an uneasy silence of anticipation over the mobs of children, who are sorted into groups according to age, all wondering the same thing. The man takes a step towards the crowd, "Welcome to the Reaping!" He says, "First let's draw the female name!" He says, reaching into the large bowl, "Maria Hunter!" He says, "And now the male tribute!" He plucks a name from the bowl, "Callahan Bright! Welcome to the Hunger Games!"
"MAY THE ODDS EVER BE IN YOUR FAVOR!" Yelled the announcer. We were escorted near the train station and were going to say goodbye to our love ones. Cal saw his poor weeping mom he went over to hug her. "I am sorry mother. I never thought this would happen." He said bt his mom just gave him a pin of their family flower. Foxglove beautiful but poisonous in it own way.
{Zoe you couldn't have practice this It is against the rules.}They both headed back to meet their mentor.
"Whatever." Cal said not waiting to give her a second of his time. She was always picking a fight. They headed onto the cabin on the train and met their mentor.
Cal Looked at his family pendant. He will wear it loud and proud. "Who are the other tributes?" He asked. Our mentor came out. "Hello I am Crystal your mentor. I want to know your strengths and our plan." Cal looked up. "I can do daggers and swords, also archery."
Crystal had little patient for this girl, she knew she will die maybe. "Cal I looked you up. You use to live in District 2 right." Cal nod his head.
"I didn't give you my permission. I was just happy that you left." Cal said. "Oh and nice stare did you work long and hard to perfect it to the mirror."
