Jus | 33 comments I’ve already read a book called “The Last List of Mabel Beaumont” by Laura Pearson. (For keyword “Last”), I’ll look at my list of books.. for next month…

Linzi Meldrum | 16 comments I just finished the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. I absolutely loved the story! It was very captivating and well-written. It is one I would GLADLY read again! Highly recommend, especially because it is a fast read, too!

Gilda Felt | 81 comments Challenge Completed: Key Work - "Never"

Time Travelers Never Die by Jack McDevitt

What could have been a tense search for a missing father, is instead a somewhat jovial ride through time. At times, Shel and Dave act like a couple of frat boys, using the time time devices to visit their favorite historical events.

There are a few moments of crisis, but the boys find a way through with almost ridiculous ease. I never felt that there was any real danger, especially with the men’s song and dance.

The book is a pleasant read, but not one I’d especially recommend. Something of a disappointment from an author whose work I usually greatly admire. I seem to have fallen into a pattern of finding the least likable of my favorite authors’ works.

Found another new cozy series that I love!!!! Absolutely loved having Trouble the Cat's perspective added to the story!!!☺️

Good story and a good mystery.

I read Never Buried by Edie Claire. I thought it was a pretty good story and a fast read. I don't know that I would see these characters as a continuing series... Maybe?

Jennifer Wheeler | 121 comments • Like Never and Always - Ann Aguirre
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Executive dysfunction/mental illness/chronic pain does some funny things sometimes (and by funny, I mean not funny at all, and quite maddening). Because I can’t even express right now how much I loved this book, and yet it took me 7 days to get through it. And when I say I loved this book, I mean that I LOVED it in the most heart-wrenching way, and I’m sad that it’s over. I also really enjoyed the Razorlands series, so probably I just really love Ann Aguirre’s writing in general, and I’m glad that I have more of her books waiting on my shelves.

Rebecca | 19 comments So far...

Somewhere Along the Way by Jodi Thomas
A Familiar Tail by Delia James (really cute series - new to me)
Never Lie to a Lady by Liz Carlyle

I only had one on my shelves for April so now I need to decide whether to keep getting some off my to-read list from the library or to continue with my real goal of reading off my own shelves!

message 9: by Jus (new)

Jus | 33 comments Hi! I’ve started reading “You’ll never know, dear” by Hallie Ephron. A psychological thriller. Key word for April is Never.

I chose to read Never Far Away by Michael Koryta and while it was a decent read, it didn't pull me in quite as much as for example "Those who wish me dead" did...

message 11: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 19 comments my daughter gave me The Sweetheart List by Jill Shalvis (whom I love!) and, after finishing it, I realized that LIST is an April word too. I'm not sure I'll get through the rest in the next few days but I'm okay with that. I hit my monthly goal by reading some other things in between.

Challenge complete: The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo. It's fitting that this book was released this month and worked perfectly for the challenge! Loved it also and that ending left me thinking about it days later.

Meet

Book:
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom

Thoughts:
This book has been highly recommended to me by several people, and it’s been on my TBR for a long time. I cried several times while reading it. It was a very sweet, sad, short book; definitely one everyone should read in their lifetime. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend.

DARLING - My Darling Girl by Jennifer McMahon
It was a very enjoyable book, and the ending plot twist was unexpected.

LIST - The Guest List by Lucy Foley
My expectations for this book were high, and I was a bit disappointed in the unrealistic, predictable characters. The storyline wasn't a bad concept, but the execution could have been a lot better.

Rachael Dixon | 10 comments I chose the word ‘Funny’ for April. I read the book “What’s So Funny?” by Tim Conway. I thought it was funny, well-written, and overall enjoyable to read. I wasn’t familiar with him so it was good to learn about him and how he grew up.

I read What Never Happened by Rachel Howzell Hall. This books was OK. At one point I had kind of thought I knew who the murder was, but discarded the idea quickly, but ended up being right. Book was a little long winded, but different premise and suspenseful at times. I think I'd try this author again, as long as it isn't 400 plus pages.
