message 2: by Iris (new)

Iris Kerns | 49 comments the apothecary by maile meloy is clean w/ magical realism. I loved it, but never got around to reading the 2 following sequels. I think it's considered YA?? but no spice, violence, or language

Iris Kerns | 49 comments also the seraphina series maybe?? it's technically middle-grade but not immature. super spooky fantasy, lots of fantasy and I loved every book in the series! there 4 books, all clean

message 6: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments An oldie but a goodie: Tea with the Black Dragon by R.A. McAvoy. It's a favorite of mine. There was a sequel, too, though I can't recall the name.

message 7: by Megan (new)

Megan Crofton | 13 comments EA Winters, Emily Schneider, CFE Black, Mary Mecham are great fantasy authors

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) Some that I love are Chronicles of Narnia and Wingfeather saga. Another series that verges on fantasy is the Rangers Apprentice series. I also like any of Chuck Blacks books but they’re not quite your “normal” fantasy.

message 12: by Dora (new)

Dora Dix | 8 comments oh my gosh! i just read the sweetest YA book fantasy series, its called "steampunk chronicles" its by Kady Krosss. I was so moved i even made some silly fan art! I reccomend it too anyone who loves a fun fantastical romp,

Jeni | StoryTimeReviews (storytimereviews) | 35 comments I enjoyed the Eona series by Alison Goodman

message 14: by Saundra (new)

Saundra Maddox | 2 comments I'm reading through Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archives, It starts with The Way of Kings and so far it is clean. He uses made up swear words like "Storm it" but that's about it. I've heard his books are clean so others should be fine. I also read his "The Frugal Wizards guide to England" (not exact title) it had some mild cursing in it which was annoying but otherwise fine.

message 15: by Allie (new)

Allie Anderson | 4 comments Powerless by Lauren Roberts has a little language and is a romance but no sex scenes and minuscule amount of sexual content

message 16: by Goodbooklover (new)

Goodbooklover | 3 comments The Chronicles of Elira by Victoria Lynn is a great clean Christian non-magical fantasy series!

message 17: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandalyn) | 115 comments I just finished Kingfisher by Patricia McKillip. It was fairly clean. I liked it a lot. I also like her Changling Sea and the Riddlemaster trilogy.
The Darkness is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper is fun.
The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley - so good.
I like Diana Wynne Jones, almost anything she has written, but my favorite series is the Dalemark Quartet.
Assassin's Apprentice trilogy by Robin Hobb is good. There is some sex outside of marriage there, but nothing graphic that I can remember.

message 18: by Dane (new)

Dane Stewart | 3 comments If you’re looking for clean YA fantasy with courageous heroes, meaningful character growth, and plenty of adventure/action, I’d love to mention my own book, Skyworld. I’m an indie fantasy author and wrote it for readers who enjoy epic stories with characters they can genuinely look up to- without sexual content or profanity.

Really appreciate groups like this that support uplifting and wholesome storytelling.

SkyWorld: The Fall Is Coming
SkyWorld: The Unmaking Tide
