This is a trick, so I will keep it simple; edit your book in countries outside America, Canada and the entire European continent. Let me explain. Unlike what people think, the world is big and there are places in the world with better English speakers than the English such as places formerly colonized. Not only is the currency low when converted to the dollar, it makes you feel as though it is cheap, when it is not. If you paid 1000 dollars to edit a 500k word book, your brows would be raised, but you see, in their currency, you have been over charged. I a lm an editor from Nigeria, and mostly that rate is pretty high here, it would translate to 800 thousand naira which could pay rent for a year. You would be paying 0.002 dollars for a word. If you are one of those people that think English can only be spoken in those tier one countries, you are beyond saving. My suggestion for teams is not to get a random person to edit your work but an editing company. They have to be stellar in their understanding of English to even be employed there. There is Quad based in Ghana, scribble inc in South Africa, Square House Books and Tea Publishing aide in Nigeria. The list could go one. This works for almost any author service, pay to a country where you can get the highest service because the dollar goes a long way there.
