Time to read those months again. We will find out which authors were born in these months, some historical facts, and those holidays that we might celebrate so lets Read the Months.


Duration: February 1, 2024 - April 30, 2024

February
1. We all know February has Valentines Day, and in the USA Presidents Day but there are a lot of other important dates in this month. Pizza Day, Love Your Pet Day, Public Sleeping Day. International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and Tortellini Day.

2. Some important events from history are the ratification of the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which guaranteed the right of citizens to vote, regardless of race, color, or previous condition of servitude (February 3, 1870), February 3, 1913 - The 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granting Congress the authority to collect income taxes, and February 3, 1943 - An extraordinary act of heroism occurred in the icy waters off Greenland after the U.S. Army transport ship Dorchester was hit by a German torpedo and began to sink rapidly. When it became apparent there were not enough life jackets, four U.S. Army chaplains on board removed theirs, handed them to frightened young soldiers, and chose to go down with the ship while praying.
