Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 508 comments I'm new to BOTM and kept looking for February's books. Do they typically come out the day prior to the new month?

I'm not sure which ones to get...decisions, decisions. lol
I will say the The Women is amazing, but I've already read it.

I'm interested to hear how you like The History of Love when you read it. 😊

message 15: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (tonyaf) | 29 comments I'm getting:
The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo

message 16: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 14 comments A Winter in New York - a co-worker just finished this & recommended. It takes place around Valentine's Day so seemed like a good February pick.
Mercury - this was the January Barnes & Noble book club choice and I like to keep up with what other clubs are reading.
Ready or Not - the cute, spring floral cover sold me. And I read at least one romance in honor of Valentine's Day.
More - I figured a book about open marriage/sex was also appropriate for the month of February.
Good Material - this is a book club pick for a couple groups, including Jenna's.
Loved all the great selections this month and will have to add ones I didn't get this time in future months.

I'm new to BOTM. Just curious if there is a reason to wait until the 21st and also how late can you order a BOTM for any particular month?

Update: Never mind, I read the answer in a post by you in one of the other threads. It's good to know.

message 21: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 508 comments I think I read that if you don't cancel for that month nor order a book, they'll send you a book. How do you know which book they'll send or do they surprise you with 1 of the 5 choices?

message 22: by Trisha, lives on coffee (last edited Feb 24, 2024 04:06PM) (new)

Trisha | 1966 comments No, if you don't pick by a certain date, they will still charge you for that month AND the next month - but if you skip, they won't charge the next month and you'll just have your original previous month credit that will roll to the next month

Not picking or skipping just depends on whether you get charged twice and have multiple credits

it's a big deal because the First charge is typically more than an add on amount (depends on plan and friend status) - so if you do one main pick and then add ons and then use a credit for an add on, you probably paid more for that credit than you do for a typical standard add on fee. Does that make sense?

message 23: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 508 comments OK, so if I don't want a book in a particular month or I want to skip because I'm worried the box would arrive while on vacation (like when we go to FL in April), it's better to skip that month than not pick, right?

message 24: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 508 comments I finally picked two books and I'm so excited! They just got her two days ago. So excited! The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo Family Family by Laurie Frankel
