Coyote Lost & Found - as good as the first and with the way Geimenhart writes it, could be read as a stand alone.

The possible Newbery contenders I am hoping to read include many mentioned above, especially Candace Fleming's Enigma Girls and Bradley's The Night War.

Kathleen | 24 comments I was going to mention The Night War by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, but I see that it was mentioned in messages 5, 8 and 11, above. I’m eager to read it as I’ve enjoyed her earlier books.

My adult book group had a good discussion on her The War That Saved My Life.

Kathleen | 24 comments The New York Times very recently wrote about a new middle grade book by Chanel Miller, the author of Know My Name: A Memoir. The title is Magnolia Wu Unfolds It All. I have no idea if it’s any good, but I’m intrigued.

Shella | 292 comments I just finished Rising Jupiter- sequel to Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt. It is for the top age group (12-14). It was outstanding. Very distinguished in the plot and characters. I hope to see it in our poll soon.

Jeanne - I just read "Not Nothing" this weekend and immediately came to work today telling everyone about it. It is such a creative, and relatable, way to handle the topics presented. This is one of the best books I've read in 2024. I'm glad you enjoyed it as well.

Kate Todd | 235 comments A Strange Thing Happened in Cherry Hall by Jasmine Warga. A stolen museum painting, a ghost and a turtle are elements in this suspenseful story.

Kate Todd | 235 comments I have also heard good things about The Bletchley Riddle by Ruta Sepetys and Steve Sheinkin which won’t be released until October. Hope we will have time to read it before the end of the year.

I also loved this book and think it should be a contender -- one of the most moving books of the year.

Also read Unstuck by Barbara Dee. I thought it was very good as well.
