Robie Harris, Often-Banned Children's Author, Is Dead at 83

Robie H. Harris is not well known because she wrote non-fiction but recently her books have been targeted by the puritanically-minded censors because they have illustrations and share information about bodies, changing bodies, sex and sexuality in a frank, informative, clinical nature.

A friend said It's Perfectly Normal: Changing Bodies, Growing Up, Sex, and Sexual Health was helpful to them as an adult as well. I found the original edition didn't tell me anything I didn't already learn in school back in the day but later editions are more informative and better suited for today's youth.

This voice of authority in children's non-fiction will be missed.
