YESS!! I read Assassin's Blade first, and am currently on Crown of Midnight (2nd book in the series). I'm really glad i read Assassin's Blade first but I do wonder how my perspective would be different if I didn't read it first. There are a few references to it throughout the books that I wouldn't understand but it would have been interesting to read it later on. It's a prequel, so it happens when Celaena is 17, and ToG starts when she's 18.
I ordered the whole series altogether on Amazon and it was soooo worth it. Much cheaper than buying separately. Not sure how people feel about buying books on Amazon though
I read the first couple yeeeeaaars ago and then forgot about them. Then I bought the whole series after finishing the first two crescent city books, and I started at assassins blade. I’m now on the 2nd to last book! Did not do the tandem read that everyone talks about because I am not that coordinated. Just have to get through these last two then I can read the new crescent city! (I’ve already read ACOTAR)
I was debating ordering the whole set but my fiancés mum kindly brought me the first 3 books for Christmas. I order on Amazon when books are on offer but I try to find what I can from world of books. I'm not fussy about all my books being brand new.
I don't think I could do the tandem read either, too much to keep track off

I am about to start Koa! I read assassins blade 1st and had my friend read it 3rd. I think 3rd packs a bigger emotional punch and you are more likely to remember the characters you meet in assassins blade when they come up again.
I read the entirety of throne of glass before I read assassins blade (currently reading it), and I didn't feel like I missed anything important not reading it first.
I've read the series twice, and I read AB first in my first readthrough, and 3rd in my second. I found in my first readthrough that AB sucked me in, and the ending made me dive right into TOG, I had to know what happened to Celaena (after i finished SOBBING, of course)! However, I was a bit hazy on the characters a bit later in the series. But, I am the sort of person who likes to read a story chronologically too, so going back to AB felt like a bit of a slog. I also 100% recommend the tandem read!
I have read the series twice too. First time I read AB 3rd, and the second time I read it 1st. But as a first time read, I think 3rd is the way to go

I just finished Throne of Glass (just the one book) I dunno I wasn’t huge fan…. But really enjoyed the ACOTAR series…. My friends that have read the whole series tell me to keep going.. are they right? Currently taking a break and reading Hooked by Emily McIntire
I just finished Crown of Midnight and already am way more into it than I was after finishing AB and ToG... both of them kinda bored me but now I'm sucked in
I read ACOTAR and now I’m on TOG. My book club did TOG, now COM then assassins blade and then HOF. Apparently it’s the reading order that Mass prefers but to each their own obviously 😊
Currently re-reading TOG again. The first time I read it through I was a little annoyed at doing AB in the 3rd slot. Now that I’m reading it again at 3rd slot I love it! It’s fun to get those couple of side stories as your last real bit of story involving Celaena! Either way I feel like you can’t go wrong with AB at the start or in the 3rd slot.

I am just curious when people read the assassins blade? some people say read it first, some say 3rd?
