I figured that they had to be connected in some way because these particular characters were living exemplary lives.
I figured they were connected as that seems to be what happens in this genre. However, I didn't have a clue as far as suspects. Some of that is because I was tuned into the personal lives more than the mystery.
I made the connection between the murders and the letters early on. However, the fact that it took Sam and her team longer, and then only when one letter explicitly stated it, was more realistic to me than some of the other cases in the series.
In terms of suspects, I focused on the connection of Roosevelt High and thought it might be someone with a grudge. Carl and the boy seemed to be an anomaly here but I remembered that Sam's friend Melissa worked for Carl and linked this to my belief that the letter writer was a woman. It clicked for me right before Skip solved it.
There isn't enough information on Melissa before the revelation for the reader to figure it out. Mine was a lucky guess.
Good catch, Lauren! I didn't make a connection until Sam thought the second woman was familiar to her. Sam knew the restaurant owner and now this woman, so I figured it was related somehow to Sam.
Nice job at figuring out the connection, Lauren! I knew the murders had to be connected, but couldn't figure out how.
