Frost: Stopping by woods on a snowy evening

The poet/narrator is on his horse on errand as he makes his way through woods that belong to one who lives in the village. He knows the owner, but knows the owner does not know he is there in his woods. Thus he is traveling, but stops. It is evening, dark and cold, and snowing, and the poet is taking in the sights and sounds, of snow falling, wind and flakes sweeping.
His horse wonders why they have stopped with no farmhouse near, and he gives his bells a shake, as if to ask if there has been some mistake?
Finally, as if the rider has had to shake his own self from his trance, from the lovely dark woods, he reminds himself that he has promises to keep...
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
