- 2 stars on Goodreads.
Oof. Holy hell, that was boring af. Which is supremely disappointing, because I loved everything else of Tremblay’s that I’ve read so far. Admittedly, there were a few hair-raising scenes, but those were sparsely scattered throughout a storyline that was an utter snooze-fest.

Paradise
Book:
Strangers in Paradise, Volume 1
Thoughts:
It was a kind of bizarre love triangle graphic novel from the 90s, but it was actually really good for the first volume. I also think the designs and cover art are absolutely beautiful. If I can find the rest of the volumes, I’ll definitely continue reading them. 4 stars!

Book: 4th of July by James Patterson (Women’s Murder Club.)
Was a fun quick read, a roller coaster ride as this series seems to be.

Mine, Again, Honey, Paradise, Still, Club, Train, Legend

Which key word did you pick? What book did you read and what did you think of it"
I chose Legend by Jude Deveraux - found it to be very interesting "time travel" romance - 3 men fell in love with her in 1 book<> fast read with good ending.....

Key Word: Paradise
I just finished Fire in Paradise: An American Tragedy by Dani Anguiano & Alastair Gee and it was quite a harrowing read about the horrifying Camp Fire razing an entire town to the ground.

I liked it but it took me a long time to get through it - I'm going to continue with the series

I’m not sure this was the best idea for an anthology. For one, how many people would have read all these series? There is a short synopsis at the beginning of each story, giving the reader at least a little knowledge of its background, but even that isn’t always enough. Also, none of the stories pick up on the major plots of the series. Rather, each story mainly takes place in the same universe, but not with any of the known characters. If there’s some sort of connection, I didn’t pick up on it since it’s been so long since I’ve read any of them.
I had only read the King, Martin, and McCaffrey series. I never cared for KIng’s Dark Tower series, Martin’s still isn’t completed, and McCaffrey’s got too big and cumbersome, so not the best choices.
Still, I gave all the stories a go. The only one I felt compelling enough to create any interest in the original stories was Tad Williams’ The Burning Man, from his Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series. But the story is set hundreds of years before the other books, and completes Breda’s, the narrator, story. I may read one of his other books, because I did enjoy his writing. So in that regard it was a success. But given the size of the book, a very small one.

Only MINE - Susan Mallery (cute as always)
Look AGAIN- Lisa Scottoline (riveting as always)
HONEYmoon + Second HONEYmoon - James Patterson (I seldom read books in sequence but had no choice with these two! so good!)
Gin and Chowder CLUB - so unremarkable that I can't even recall the author - nan...r?
Night TRAINS - Barbara Wood (huge fan, somehow missed this when I read all her others... don't think interlibrary loan was quite as easy back then)
LEGEND of the Pharoah's Tomb (a kids book my daughter found for me - part of a series but don't remember the author, was actually really good - and totally not set on Mars like I thought every time I glanced at the cover...)
should be able to finish STILLhouse Lake- Rachel Caine
My daughter totally makes fun of my monthly words but I am loving this!
