I didn't pick well last month, so fingers crossed this month's goldenrod/purple books are better :
and
Good luck, Bonnie!
This book has been picked for me about 4 times in other challenges. Time to shove it along:
And as long as I'm literarily in Louisiana anyway:
Ditto re picked for me more than once:

I really enjoyed the books I read by Jana Deleon.
Me too, Bonnie, and Miss Fortune is a definite fave. I'm behind by two books in that series at the moment and I have absolutely no idea how I've let that happen.

I think I read them when I was in a cozy group and we were reading first in series books.

"I ended up getting Ink, Blood, Sister, Scribe early on Libby- but did end up finishing it and loving it: My 4 star review- Hard to review a book I almost DNF but ended up loving. The first (almost) half is confusing. New POV chapters with no idea how they tie into the sister's story. I skimmed through many chapters. Then once I realized who they were and how they fit in the story, had to go back and reread stuff. So, the organization IMO was not great for half the book, but the actual novel, world, characters and storyline by the end was excellent.
You know, you can pick a different book for purple and/or for the one-commit challenge if you want, Bonnie. Although there's something refreshing about finishing something early!

"Finished The Hundred Secret Senses and didn't love it. Not terrible, but too similar to other of her books with less likeable main and side characters.
Good to know about the Tan. I read her breakout book right after it came out but I don't know if I've read anything else by her. Which means I probably haven't.

It was a favorite of mine. I might even re-read it sometime as I've started playing Mahjongg myself and I remember it being part of that book.
Yes, that's the one. I really liked it. But I was at a point in my life where my book budget was tiny and a lot of my reading was academics-driven. :) By the time those two things changed, other things were tempting me at the bookstore.
