Here is a brief summary of times, places, characters, and bits and pieces we encounter in the last three sections of the book.

Part Seven: The Terminal

Times/places: Severn City Airport, multiple time periods/Diallo and Kirsten interview/Year 15 a river in what used to be Virginia (McKinley settlement)

Characters and bits and pieces:

Clark: creator of the Museum of Civilization in the Skymiles Lounge in Concourse C
Elizabeth and Tyler: people want to tweet her picture and are frustrated about not being able to, she wants to keep the runways clear
Pilots leaving with planes, Tyler spouts off excerpts of Revelation
Kirsten and Francois: K turns the tables on Francois and asks about his life
Jeevan: our friend has made it, now with a wife and son, he's the closest thing to a doctor they have for 100 miles
Charlie and Jeremy/the Sixth Guitarist: they've made it as well
We learn more about the prophet, but what happened to his mother?

Part 8: the Prophet

Times/places: outskirts of Severn City/the disappearances explained

K+A find Sayid
The story of the Clarinet who hates Shakespeare, loves music, and is an excellent hunter
We learn the story of Kirsten's tattoos
Kirsten and Tyler/the Prophet share Station Eleven
A town in the distance has figured out how to get the lights on again

Part 9: Station Eleven

Places/Times: Arthur's last day on earth/Miranda thinking of more images for Station Eleven/the symphony's stint at Severn City/Clark reads Station Eleven and spends a lot of time remembering

Characters and bits and pieces:

Arthur: decides he wants to move to Israel, give up everything, gives away his copies of Station Eleven
Clark: remembers the dinner party in L.A., thinks of the world awakening and wants to know what else it might contain

I half felt sorry for Elizabeth and half wanted to shake her. Optimism=good but naivete= gets you killed. She is so set on going back to how it was that she just cannot process moving forward.

Truthfully, though, I think that's how some of us would be if we found ourselves in that situation. To have your whole world, literally, completely changed overnight.... only some would be able to not only survive but thrive, moving forward in a whole new culture. Some just would never be able to get there.
