For the Open Non-fiction, I would like to nominate Doppelganger: A Trip into the Mirror World by Naomi Klein. It is on the longlist for the 2024 Women's Prize for Nonfiction. I can lead.
I would like to nominate Kindred for fiction by black women, and I would like to nominate The Truth about Woman for open non- fiction book. I am willing to lead group discussion.
For fiction by a Black author, I nominate The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson.
For open choice nonfiction, I nominate How to Say Babylon by Safiya Sinclair
I can lead.

I'm not leading"
This book doesn’t fit either of our nomination themes. Please feel free to nominate another that meets the theme guidelines posted above.
I'd like to nominate The Blueprint by Rae Giana Rashad, a speculative/dystopian novel about a near-future post Civil War II US south in which Black women are forced into concubinage and then marriage. Shades of The Handmaid's Tale. For nonfiction, I nominate My Side of the River by Elizabeth Camarillo Gutierrez.
I am not going to nominate as other nominations seem great. From what has been nominated it looks like the Women's Prize for Non Fiction is going to highlight some interesting reads.
I don't have a nomination for fiction by a black woman, but for non-fiction (open), I nominate "Foraging: Field Notes for Surviving a Family Cult" by Michelle Dowd. I can lead because it's on my reading list for the next few months anyway.
I'd like to nominate Americanah by by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (her other books are great, but I never got around to that one... As far as I can tell from the bookshelf, it's only been nominated, not read as a group read yet.
Nominations are closed and the polls are up through the 16thhttps://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/1...
