Chapter 22
June was dreaming of Eamon after returning home from the faire. Both Eamon and June had restless sleep. Esther and Margaret came to the farm. Margaret and June talked about the dance. June was thinking back to all that happened a the dance, Eamon, Caleb, Mimi Granger... June went to the Crawley farm to get some answers. Answers that no one else was offering. Mrs. Granger was there, but not willing to talk to June. She threatened to call the sheriff. June pleaded with her to think about that night. Mimi said she saw June running in a white dress with red stains on it. Her body was covered with red splotches. She said June was carrying the little girl....
June didn't know what to think. Susanna and the baby, the minister's body being found, could Eamon been involved in the murder?
Suddenly, June was no longer in Esther's truck. She was gripping the steering wheel. She looks over and finds Mason. Was she dreaming? June thought about memories of Mason. What about Mason? returning feelings for Eamon? Confusion...and time was running out.
Mimi and June finally talk about that night. What did that mean? Was June involved in the murder of Nathaniel? The red splotches on her dress? Now thoughts of Mason. Mason....and Eamon, her husband! June wanted to do the right thing, but someone was going to get hurt either way.
Your thoughts?
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
-Donna
