Quick trip to NYC from western mass, requiring, of course, a trip to The Strand:
,
And a few advance readers!!!!! Happy Easter . . .
Got a delivery of a couple I've been looking forward for quite a while. Going to be hard to choose what to read first from:
Another Goodreads giveaway/Penguin Book Pub. Came in the mail for me. "The Jazz Palace" by Mary Morris. Thank you Goodreads and Penguin Pub. It will be next on my TBR.
Totally just realised I accidentally posted my purchases in the March folder, so I'm going to repost them here!Been on a bit of rampage. My brother's birthday has recently been so I bought Green Rider by Kristen Britain, The Wells Bequest by Polly Shulman, The Young Elites by Marie Lu, Prisoner of the Black Hawk by A.L. Tait and The Nethergrim by Matthew Jobin for him.
Also - one of my friend's b'days is coming up so I bought her a leatherbound copy of The Complete Sherlock Holmes (which just arrived and oh my goodness it's beautiful!).
And then for mee... I've pre-ordered a few: The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey, The Shattered Court by M.J. Scott and also preordered Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley. And finally I bought His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik.
Told you I went on a rampage!!
Technically I’m on a book buying ban but I saw the amazing trailer for
yesterday and I immediately went out and bought the book today. And I couldn’t leave the bookstore without getting my book a friend so I bought
too lol!
We didn't stop at any bookstores on the way to Fl so I stopped at 2 today :)Slouching Towards Bethlehem: Essays by Joan Didion (paperback)
Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl (paperback)
What is the What by Dave Eggers (hardcover)
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (paperback)
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand (paperback)
Also I meant to post this over a week ago but I forgot:"I'm on a bit of a budget since we are driving to Florida next week and I plan on stopping at some bookstores on the way there, so my trips to the bookstore have been scarce. I did go today though.
The Magicians by Lev Grossman (paperback)
The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith (hardcover)(I don't own the first one, but I couldn't pass this one up for a dollar)
We're All In This Together: A Novella and Stories by Owen King (paperback)
It by Stephen King (mm paperback)(I have multiple copies of this)
Looking for Alaska by John Green (paperback)(This is my second copy but I loved this book so I wanted a second copy to lend out)

Went to Comic Con today so obviously I bought a couple of books! I got I Was Here by Gayle Forman and These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and for a great price too!
I'm slacking a bit posting - there have been quite a few books bought since I last got round to declaring them, but anyway, here's today's little stash:
I found a nice second hand bookshop last weekend and I bought:Donkeys on My Doorstep: Hoofing It in the Mallorcan Hills
Dark Star Safari: Overland from Cairo to Cape Town
I hope they are good travel books.
I still have many books I haven't read in my book shelf, but I bought some...
Weird Stuff Happening
Copyrighting Handbook: The Ultimate Guide to Copyrighting Tricks For Selling Millions
The Plague Factory
Cold Steel on the Rocks
I swore I wouldn't buy books until I finally buy new bookcases. So much for that. I bought:
by Liza Dalby, Geisha
Faceless Killers by Henning Mankell
Something Wicked by Carolyn G. Hart
Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay
The Killings At Badger's Drift by Caroline Graham
Death Of A Hollow Man by Caroline Graham

Karen, there's always the floor for piling books, you know. :-)

I sometimes order the same book twice because I forget that I had already ordered it. I really wish one of the big book publishers would get former Red Sox player Bill Buckner to write his autobiography. Buckner went through hell after the ball went through his legs in the 86 World Series. I always thought he was scapegoated since he wasn't the only player that made mistakes that cost the Red Sox the World Series.

Your purchase reminded me of this old good memory!! :-D

That´s great! I have not seen the movie yet but planning to, some day! :)
Hi All, I'm new to this group. I've been on a book ban because I have way too many books to read and not enough time to read them all. Recently I purchased The Sandcastle Girls from BookBub for less than $3.00.
Went to a record store on Saturday to buy some vinyl in honor of Record Store Day and the record store I found had tons of books there too, but after spending so much money on records I only decided to buy one book lol

I have yet to read any of his work but I've heard he's very good.
Picked up
this weekend
I might have gone a wee bit overboard today. I went to Anderson's in Naperville to pick up a couple of books:
and decided to stop at the Half Price Books there, too. Their store is a bit larger than the one near me and I ended up spending a good chunk of change bringing home:
