This is a tip I learned because I have ADHD and I procrastinate:- Make a list of everything you need to study (E.g: "Read pages 267-270, finish writing notes for science, go over the study guide" , and next to each task draw a little flower or something like that!! Each time you finish a task, you get to color the flower and it is like a small accomplishment!!
(So it should look smt like this:
- Read pages 267-270 ⭐
- finish writing notes for science ☆
- go over the study guide ☆
- Get a bowl of chocolate chips and everytime you read a page of your textbook, or answer a question right, eat one!! Reward yourself!!
<3
What I do usually: -make notes of topics tested
-memorise
-‘teach’ myself without looking at my notes
-rewrite whatever I memorise
Yup I think this is called blurting. It really helps if ur study style is by writing and reading.

The re-writing is crucial!! A tip for like word for word memorization I learned in theater:
Write the first letter of each word of a sentence. For this example it will be "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". You would write "T Q B F J O T L D" and try to recite the first phrase from just the letters, that tip has helped me memorize so many lines <3
For me, I list everyting and when im done i dramatically or agresively cross it out, also if that learning is kid of easy, just a lot of dumb stuff, music which i know lyrics to, i sream all of my study pain haha. Im "the smart friend" and explaining helps me more than my friends haha. Also, if its definitions i try to associate it with something, so i could remember it easier.Good luck to everyone🩷
Also if you have a test that day, write everything down shortened in a small piene of paperka and keep it under your other books, so you could repeat on other lessons! If you trying to learn a poem, what helps for me is just rewriting everything and then just imagining stuff that happens. Like she was in silence 🤫 just she and the forest 👧🌲just her and the silence👧🤫

Yess thats also good!!
I usually read the textbook and take notes of all the important stuff and make sure I understand EVERY WORD, so I just put in parentheses the definition so I know I understand everything.
Also I prefer taking note on my laptop, but I know people say on paper is better. What do you think?

I take notes on my laptop as taking notes by hand takes to long for me. And I kind of just re-read them and Just give it my best shot

Do a reward system. So like for me if I study for a certain amount of time I take about an hour of something I like to do. So lets say I spent an hour studying for Biomed then I would do 30 minutes of jigsaw puzzles or word searches. If the studying pays off and I do good on a test or exam I tend to bake something or just have a relaxing day of no school work. Also making lists and setting a time for how long you wanna work on it in one period. Youtube has some study timer videos that can be very helpful and I can always send some videos to you guys
don't work 4 hours straight (or however long u need to) studying, your gonna wear yourself out. take breaks in between. on your breaks, eat something, exercise, do chores. it really helps me :)
Nour wrote: "Hi guys! do you have any tips on waking up early?? I’m so bad at it, but I wanna get better!"not reading at night and doingsome sports the exact minute you wake up, i also se tan alarm for like 6.00, wake up and then i know that ill need to get up soon, at 6.30 my antoher alarm starts and my body just wasnt that much asleep
Thanks Liepa! its gonna be so hard to stop reading at night :/
I also set like 10 alarms and it usually helps

Nour wrote: "Hi guys! do you have any tips on waking up early?? I’m so bad at it, but I wanna get better!"i would say waking up on the same (early) time everyday so your body gets used to it, even if you don't have to, and going to bed early. You can also set multiple alarms with the last being the time you need to wake up.
Im a morning person and i end up waking up at 5:30 most days without an alarm (no electronic in the room :(), so my brain just has a mental alarm at this point, srry for the long message
Can anyone share their timetable, I'm trying hard to make one but I can never fit all I want into the nine hours I have after school :/

Girl, how do you manage??? I thought I had a lot to do but now I feel like I literally do nothing😂Srsly, I applaud you!👏
Studying for me is fairly easy bc i’m naturally smart and i have a photographic memory (thx to my dad) but when i do:I usually just review over notes and ask my friends to quiz me
And i use quizlets and stuff
Or when you have from a text book, copying down important things helps and like making your own notes bc writing helps you remember things <33
Hope this helps even a little bit

Thxx. I wish I had a photographic memory, things would be a lot easier😅
how do you stayed focused on something you don't enjoy? like for me i cannot focus to write essays and just writing assignments in general, i tried the pomodoro but that didn't really work
nina [semi hiatus ._.] wrote: "how do you stayed focused on something you don't enjoy? like for me i cannot focus to write essays and just writing assignments in general, i tried the pomodoro but that didn't really work"I would try the reward system if I were you. For example if you have to cover 3 topics in an essay, you do one of them and then go onto gr or have chocolate or something and do that after each topic. It helps you stay motivated. Hope this helps!!

I personally like to write but i would suggest also the mindset.
don’t go in saying, oh i don’t want to do this i hate this i suck at it
instead think things like, the faster i get this done the faster I don’t have to worry about it

I usually reward myself with a youtube short or reading a chapter of my book
these are all amazing tips btw!

i hate reading text books because i feel like i’m just reading the information and it’s not sticking, i quite like making mind maps and posters and stick them on my wall and look at them everyday so i start memorising key information and i also do past papers

Different thing work for different people I guess.

i wouldn't say i have photographic memory but like i almost have it because like i can practice a script three/four times and have it memorised almost by heart at that point same after i attend lectures i can basically recite what the professor has said by heart and it only takes like a few times for me to read through my textbooks in school and remember most of it.

For something that might help people for remembering lectures or notes (I struggle with this myself) is to color code notes, play music without words (I listen to lofi), and to chew something like gum while studying and then do it with your tests or exams. This has really helped me a lot
