Hi all :-)
Feel free to post your fantasy suggestions for the month of May. As always it must be either a continuation of a series we've already begun, a standalone, or the first in a series.
May will be a fantasy month again so please don't suggest Sci-fi as they won't be voted in.
Also, as always you can second all those suggestions you want to bump up the list, as the most popular will go into the Poll :-)
Thanks for all voting and your wonderful participation in the group!
Kaitlin

Justin (jbradley86) hi i personally dont thing you can go wrong with a good david gemmell book. my favourite and suggestion is ghost king

message 3: by TS (last edited Apr 01, 2015 07:31PM) (new)

TS Chan (tschan) | 159 comments A few first in a series that I have been planning to start reading:
Promise of Blood
The Lies of Locke Lamora
Theft of Swords
The Black Prism
However, I think some of those in the group might have read some of these already.

There's one book which is not very well-known but I really liked, and as such, do not mind re-reading and engaging in the discussion with the group, Ascension

message 4: by Michael (new)

Michael (michaeldixon) | 60 comments I've read Theft of Swords, Promise of Blood and The Black Prism. I can recommend them (and I listed them in preference order... for what it's worth). I have no issue doing a re-read.

Out of deep respect for TS and her tastes, I heartily second Ascension. Ghost King also looks good.

I'll also throw some other selections into the ring

The Last Stormlord
The Sentinel Mage
The Fifth Season

I'm going to throw out one I doubt too many will have heard of but one which interests me as it's a self-publised and pretty popular in the UK and that is The Written (Emaneska #1) by Ben Galley by Ben Galley.
However I love all the suggestions so far too and I think it will be super exciting whatever gets chosen! Keep them coming :)

message 10: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Xu (kxu65) | 21 comments I'll second The Last Stormlord and nominate The Innocent Mage.

Christina Pilkington | 27 comments I'd like to second The Lies of Locke Lamora and Soulless as I have them on my self and wanted to get to them soon. Also, I have a preorder coming in next week called A Crown for Cold Silver that would be fun to discuss with this group.

Ungar5 | 25 comments i second Lies of Locke Lamora. i have read it already but i want to do a reread of the series before the new book comes in june. its an amazing book and a group discussion would be fun.

message 15: by Phil On The Hill (last edited Apr 13, 2015 01:09PM) (new)

Phil On The Hill (philonthehillexon) How about Hounded . This Iron Druid series seems to get great reviews. It is also shorter than most and easy to read alongside the next Malazan opus.
Hounded (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne
