How did you get into gaming, and what are some of your favorite gaming memories?

I guess since I asked the question, maybe I should go first. 😆 My stepdad got me into gaming! He used to let me play on the PC he built when I was a kid. I would spend hours playing Oregon Trail and Where in the World Is Carmen San Diego. Then in 1999, he helped me build my first PC and the two of us played EverQuest together.

I have so many memories of playing with him and other friends. I feel like I've been every kind of gamer: from hard core raider to cozy play at my own speed kind of gamer. :)

Dogday -good for nothing- On and off When I watched my dad, my aunt and my mom play Halo even though I wasn't playing I watched and now I'm really good at shooters

For me, the first Halo was the best game ever! I still have a print of Master Chief on my wall all these years later :)

JuanRakii | 11 comments My first videogame was Pokémon Silver!
For basically all of the 2000s I played Pokémon, Mario games, Zelda games and Star Wars Lego.

Later, in 2009 my family bought a PS3 where I played a buuunch of diferent games.

My favorite memories are coming home after-school and playing COD Zombies for hours :')

Grinchy | 7 comments my dad told me he used to have Halo parties, so I wanted to try it out, and now I love gaming.

I have never done a Halo party, but definitely have done a couple LAN parties playing Diablo 2 or just had friends over to play Smash Bros. Game parties can be so much fun!!

I didn't read this...I heard the jingle as my eyes moved over the words. 😅

I've never recalled the following memory prior to reading the topic question, but I fondly remember sitting in a gaming lounge in Iraq and playing Mass Effect 1 on a public Xbox.

I also remember being awe struck by FFX's story and storytelling--an experience that likely shaped my own passion for storytelling in a very real way. 🥰

zoë | 6 comments when i was a little kid, i would sit on top of my dad's desk at his pc and play fallout. i don't remember which version it was, probably fallout 3 or new vegas, and i had no clue what i was doing, but it's such a core memory :) from what i remember i had to sit on his desk because if i sat at his chair i couldn't reach the keyboard 😭

DestinyLandon | 1 comments Oh, for me one of my favorite gaming memories has to be playing The Sims after school. I would get home, grab a snack, and spend hours just building houses, creating characters, and seeing how their little lives played out. Sometimes I’d make crazy scenarios just to see what would happen, and other times I’d get really invested in their stories. Now I always try to play new games and try new genres. So that's how I also came across a site where I read about https://5dragons-pokie.com/real-money/
which explains some of the mechanics and features of real-money pokie games, and it was interesting to see how these games are structured and how the bonuses work.
