What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

about a mean child. That he tortured a cat (possibly killed). where later in the story the cat returns (reincarnation) as a girl/woman. with her memory lost and meets the young (now older) boy. and later in the story the woman regains her memory of her previous life and finds out that it was he who tortured her. and in the end she murderd hem in his sleep as revenge of he did to her.

Read about a year and half ago.
It play in somewhere between 1900 and 1920.
also listened as a audiobook on sportify. It about 2 to 3 hours ling.

Unlikely, but this reminds me of Florence Stevenson's Ophelia; don't think it's your book, but you might enjoy it.
