Our Patricia wished to share about the inexplicable removal of Jane Austen artifacts and her manuscripts from the public rooms of the British Library and placed in storage. One of our British Austenesque writers has brought this to our attention and has started a petition to the British Library for Austen to be reinstated for public viewing. I was really disappointed when I was in the National Portrait Gallery recently t find that Cassandra Austen's drawing of Jane had been removed. I hope it comes back soon. I appreciate that the paintings on display are a fraction of the available stock but I would love to see it on display again.

Yes, hopefully, you're gallery does a rotation. I wonder if there is a way to check their website for when the art will return to public display.

Just a quick comment. Jane’s writing desk is going out on loan to at least one place in the UK. It’s going to be in Southampton from (I think) November to February. If we make our usual New Year trip to friends in Southampton this year, I’m hoping to get to see it.
