I’ve heard that The Diary of Anne Frank has sexual content in it, I’d always assumed that would be a great book but since seeing some of the reviews I want to get a copy and read it ASAP before one of my siblings finds it and reads it unknowingly. Can anyone confirm or deny this info for me? I’ll still probably read it anyways but I would like to know.
Love this thread!I've never read it before (though I want to), but this is from a quick Google search (Common Sense Media):
"Peter once shows Anne the male reproductive organs of a cat. However, the sexual content here is not graphic and should not be as offensive as it seems to be."
Idk 🤷🏻♀️ once I read the book I’ll do a follow up about it. If it’s just something like that I’m not worried, growing up on a farm that’s no shocker 🤣, I just want to make sure there isn’t something concerning in it.
There were some things in The Diary of Anne Frank that made me uncomfortable. She and Peter discuss things that I felt should not be discussed by a girl and boy, and there was one thing Anne said to one of her female friends that I honestly don't even want to type here. Smh. Seems to me like Anne had problems. Also, a woman they were staying with was flirting with Anne's father if I remember correctly. (They were both married to other people)
Ok good to know. I’ll mention something to my mom that way she’s aware and doesn’t just get it and my little sis ends up reading it.
Ok. Good to know. I REALLY need to find a copy so I can just read it and know what it is. I’m gonna start looking around. Honestly I’d probably settle for an ebook.
There are edited versions of The Diary of Anne Frank that they use in schools. I'm not sure who published them though.

There is a new graphic novel on Anne Frank and it has Anne Frank showing a boy a graphic picture of a girl's private parts.
From books I have read on Anne Frank it seems to me either she had some problems or authors are adding things to the books. In a bad way.
I believe a huge injustice has been done to Anne Frank by the adaption that was based very loosely on parts of her diary which were then cut up, twisted as well as stuff that was flat out made up about her. Most of the graphic novel isn't even recognizable to anyone who's read her diary. Anne Frank would be appalled at how her words have been mutilated. No one should base their opinion on Anne Frank and what she was saying/thinking by what the graphic novel adaption projects.
Ok. The one I’m gonna read just to see how it is and if it’s appropriate or not is The Diary of a Young Girl

Or is there a book that looks super good but you just want to make sure before you start it? You can ask about it here and we'll try to get you questions answered!
