What is Your Go to Time Period?

For me it would be these time periods: WWII (I love this time period, too!), WWI, and the American Civil War. Now and then I also enjoy a book set in ancient Rome or Britain.
I really like WW2 and western expansion, with some colonial added in. I will also say that colonial is more nonfiction than fiction XP
My go to time period depends on the country the book is based in!America- WWII/ 1800s
England/United Kingdoms- 1700s
Germany & France - 1500s
Japan/Korea/China- anything from the 1800s and later
Medieval for me because deep down, I'm a fantasy reader but I also like low fantasy with less magic and stuff so medieval feels sort of like fantasy. But I'll read just about anything. :)

Tbh, I love anything set during a war, as long as it's not just a romance with the war as a backdrop. Those CAN be good, but I like action in my books. ;)
Romance with war as a backdrop makes war feel romantic and "cool" oftentimes I feel like. That's something I like about books like Rilla of Ingleside, it doesn't gloss over the true pain of the war. At. All.
Have you guys read Jack Cavanaugh's American Family Portrait series? It's about this family starting back in the 1600's and they pass a Bible down through each generation to the present day. A lot of the books take place against a war backdrop with a hint of clean romance in them. https://www.goodreads.com/series/5682...
My favorites in that series were probably "The Adversaries", "The Victors" and "The Patriots." It was a fun series.

Some books are just good enough that you can't help but love them, even if they're not your favorite genre.

Lots of fellow Civil War enthusiasts here! Besides that one, I am interested in WW1 and 2, Revolutionary War, Western Expansion, and the Edwardian era. Some of the Great Depression/30s in general.
I like:American Civil War
Basically, any revolution
Middle Ages
Worl War I
World War II
Idk if I really have a go-to time period anymore. It seems like I've been leaning toward World War II lately, but that just might be because there are so many books set during that time. A few years ago, it was American Civil War, no question.

For me it's the Underground Railroad and WWII. But especially WWII. When I see a book set in it I instantly add it to my TBR and it's one I really want to read. I don't know why but it feels like I can't get enough of that time period. lol. What part of History is that for you?
