This was such an unexpectedly fun read! It tells the story of Enola Holmes, the much younger sister of Sherlock, who runs away to search for her mother when she disappears on Enola’s 14th birthday. Whilst making her way to London, Enola becomes involved in the search for the missing, suspected kidnapped, Marquess of Basilwether, showing just how similar she is compared with the brother she barely knows. This is a very fast-paced mystery and I can see why young people enjoy it, and why it was made into a Netflix show that I have yet to watch. There were lots of times when I had to suspend my disbelief, but this was a very good start to this series, and I am looking forward to reading the next instalment soon.
