I'm on Shepherd.com, so far it has been invitation only but they may be widening the usage. I was first asked for the page you describe, then I was asked to list my three best books of 2023.

If anyone is invited to participate, I recommend taking up the offer. I don't know that I have sold any books this way, but it gives a little credibility to an independently publishing author. Also, this is a fascinating and friendly site to visit.

The Shepherd.com book site is an interesting collection of books. An author poses a statement, such as the best books about whatever, makes a list of 5 books and then includes their own book on the list. You can choose friends books, the best books ever written, a mixture of both, or anything you want.
The beauty of this system is that it is new and free and there are not millions of people setting up their books in it yet. Yet is the key word. There are thousands of authors using it, which means your book has a good chance of being seen by many people. When it becomes more popular and more people start to place books in it, your book, or books will once again probably get lost in a sea of books. So cash in on the free publicity while you can.
