Discussion here for the third book in the Murderbot Diaries.

I read this series the first time as they came out. I'm re-reading with D&J and enjoying them just as much. I have a paperback and audiobook checked out to listen/read at the same time.

Me too - I'll be joining as well!

I checked out #2 from the library with no problems but the third has a ton of holds. My plans to do two energy cells this month are shot.

I saw that you finished Curse of Chalion - that counts for an energy cell. :)

Hope | 150 comments I just finished this and I'm like, wait, you can't end it like that! Each of those novellas feel a lot like episodes in a TV series, which I enjoy.

I also highly recommend the Graphic Audio version of this series as it makes it really immersive. Though I can't help but think of Sec Unit as "he" because of the male narrator, even if Sec Unit calls its imaginary handler "Rin" she.

I managed to get it before the end of the month. I read the first one in print, and since then Murderbot has been she in my mind.

Greg | 1473 comments I missed the end of the month, but I'm reading it now. Very enjoyable, maybe a tiny bit less so than the first, but it's still good!

I read the series in ebook first and thought of Murderbot as she. Now when I'm listening a second time through I still think she even with the narrator. Interesting.

I like that Hope, TV episodes for sure!

I like the contrast between the intelligent ART and the comparatively slow-witted Mickey.

I felt the same way Audrey! So far, in each book, she finds something new and fun to keep things fresh.

I love ART's dry humor, sarcasm. And the name! lol

Greg | 1473 comments I finished and enjoyed it very much, but I was sad about the robot being destroyed. 😢

Maybe he'll get better.

I'm hoping! When I started reading the first book, I didn't expect to read the whole series, but I'm enjoying each of them and will be carrying on!
