everyone else just writes it in third person, like a paragraph from a book.
Yeah, it's an interesting way but like Dan has said, I do it in 3rd person.
it is funny, i thought it'd be like, no swearing, no killing each other's charries without permission, all that crap, but instead, we get this like, 7 paragraph post telling us how to
Hahaha ;D
Nope.
OMG IT'S IGGY!
He's my hero... xD

I want to kill him but love all over him at the same time :]

Marie sighed. The stupid cyclops didn't want to be killed. "Not yet, Rose, not yet." "
*Lunabell* wrote: "Wow, that's definitely a different way of RPing. I always do in in 3rd person, like "Rose walked into the store. "Hey Marie, did you kill that cyclops yet?"
Marie sighed. The stupid cyclops didn't ..."
Me!
Marie sighed. The stupid cyclops didn't ..."
Me!

Its really disconcerting when someone makes a character with your name, though. That's happened several times for me, and I'm always like "What? No! I didn't do that! What are you talking about?"
Lol, I know. I was kidding(:
and yeah, I know what you mean.

Roleplay: In roleplaying, participants adopt and act out the role of characters, or parts, that may have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds different from their own. Roleplaying, also known as RP to some, is like being in an improvisational drama or free-form theater, in which the participants are the actors who are playing parts, and the audience.
This is how we do it. We choose a character that you know the personality well of and you roleplay that character. You pretend to be that person and their responses to conversations are in the character that they are.
If you're still confused ask one of the moderators about it. It also helps to view other conversations that people have had for an example.
How to do it
1. I suggest posting the name of the character you're roleplaying above to make sure people know who they're talking to. Ex. Sam, Caine.
2. Then use these *...* to tell motion or what the character is doing. You cannot have an entire conversation where people don't do anything. It's just not realistic. Ex. *twirls her hair around her finger, and looks closely at the paper.
3. The whole point of conversations in roleplay is to talk. So when people speak, merely use the quotation marks. "...." Ex. "Do you happen to know where I can find the bathroom?"
EXAMPLE: This is a convo between two characters that I have created. It's not related to Gone, by merely a conversation I started on a different roleplay.
Xander
*is sitting at a desk in the boarding school libary his eyes barely focused on a book. He turns the yellowed pages slowly in his beated hands, trying to focus on the book. He cannot. He sighs, throwing the book on the table. Then he closes his eyes as the thirst comes back upon him. He clenches his jaw and puts his face in his hands, keeping his eyes closed as he lays his face on the table and pretends to be sleeping.*
Kerri
*walks into the libary, intent on looking for a book for her classes. She stops as she finds Alex and walks slowly over to her friend. She puts her hand on his and looked into his eyes as he stares at her sadly.
"Alex--are you alright?"
*she grimaces as he shakes his head and pulls him into her lap.*
"It'll be okay, honey. It'll be okay."
*he gasps suddenly, closing his eyes*
