Also Patrick Leigh Fermor's three books about his journey from London to Constantinople, such a richly detailed journey, told in glorious prose so you are with him every step of the way.
I'll start!
1. Eat Pray Love. I first started solo traveling at the age of 17 and so many people over the years judged me for it (especially considering I would do solo trips as a married woman). This book spoke to that adventurous part of me and reminded me that it doesn’t matter what others think. All I must do in this life is listen and act on what my heart calls me to do. Elizabeth Gilbert perfectly describes this feeling and all that is involved in solo travel.
2. Four Corners by Kira Salak. I like this one for similar reasons as Eat Pray Love. It’s about a solo female traveler who is compelled to explore some of the most remote and off the beaten path places in the world. The way she writes makes me feel like I’m adventuring with her.
