Laura:

1. humour/ comedy
Second Hand Curses by Drew Hayes I loved this book, it made it actually laugh out loud. Each chapter is a different adventure but they flow together well.

2. Nature
The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren on your tbr, comes out this month and has a nature looking cover

3. Star wars day is May 4 so sci-fi recs or long running series
How to Save an Undead Life (Beginner's Guide to Necromancy, #1) by Hailey Edwards 15 books is a long running series in my books. These are fun UF. How can you not love a sentient house!

Elena:

1. humour/ comedy
How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying (Dark Lord Davi, #1) by Django Wexler out this month, on your tbr and just sounds like a lot of fun

2. Nature
Bittersweet in the Hollow (Bittersweet in the Hollow, #1) by Kate Pearsall on your tbr, nature cover plus takes place surrounded by national forrest

3. Star wars day is May 4 so sci-fi recs or long running series
Blood Kissed (Lizzie Grace, #1) by Keri Arthur 12 books and counting is also a long running series. Good books, they do need better editing but are worth dealing with some grammatical and spelling errors. Its set in a small town in Austrailia, werewolf reservations, wild magic and just magic in general.

MacKenzie:

1. humour/ comedy
Slouch Witch (The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic, #1) by Helen Harper funny trilogy with an MC who just wants to be able to eat food and watch tv but keeps getting forced into doing things. Plus there is a talking cat and he is amazing.
My Roommate Is a Vampire by Jenna Levine on your tbr, sounds like a romcom

2. Nature
To Poison a King (Heirs of Isla, #1) by S.G. Prince on your tbr, nature looking cover

3. Star wars day is May 4 so sci-fi recs or long running series
How to Save an Undead Life (Beginner's Guide to Necromancy, #1) by Hailey Edwards 15 books is a long running series in my books. These are fun UF. How can you not love a sentient house! Adding this for your recs too as Im pretty sure the series is on KU
The Demon Prince of Momochi House, Vol. 1 (1) by Aya Shouoto manga tends to run long and Im quite enjoying this series. Think you would too.

Elena Granger | 1805 comments Finally I got to the picks :)

Brittany:
My Love Story!!, Vol. 1 by Kazune Kawahara - I've recently started reading this lovely manga, it's so funny, cute and light.
Song of Silver, Flame Like Night (Song of the Last Kingdom, #1) by Amélie Wen Zhao - magical story with beautiful language, lots of nature, it's also asian fantasy.
Five Broken Blades by Mai Corland - I haven't read the book yet, but that description looks really intense, fresh and interesting. I think you should love it.

Laura:
This Woven Kingdom (This Woven Kingdom, #1) by Tahereh Mafi - I've read several series by the author and think this one is her best so far, though not finished yet.
The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren - I remember loving the first book, this one should be at leas descent, the description sounds nice.
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman - very unusual book, but also interesting and I remember I really enjoyed the narrative.

Mackenzie:
Well Met (Well Met, #1) by Jen DeLuca - I'll second this one, the whole series it delightfully funny, light and with some nature.
In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune - the author is good in creating magical worlds and cosy, atmospheric stories, the book also rises pretty interesting topics. I think you might love it.
The Poppy War (The Poppy War, #1) by R.F. Kuang - insanely good asian fantasy, it's pretty heavy on the plot and culture, which makes it not an easy read, but worth it 100%.

Also as the summer tends to be busy, I was thinking of doing every other month with these til fall. So doing them in July and September and then back to monthly. What do you all think? If you want them every month Ill still put them up I just cant promise Ill be around to do picks.

message 15: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1805 comments I'm fine with skipping months as my summer is going to be pretty busy too.

Mackenzie :) (book_girl_777) | 253 comments That sounds good to me as well. sorry for the late picks, we had just finished our performances of The Sound Of Music (which went AMAZING!!!), but here are some picks that you all might find interesting:

Brittany

•Funny Feelings by Tarah Dewitt: This book was just so fun and definitely a rom-com at heart

• What We Harvest by Ann Fraistat: The concept for this book was so interesting and also involves nature.

• The Cure Chronicles by K.A. Riley: This is a sci-fi series that kept me hooked!

Elena

• The Co-Op by Tarah Dewitt: This was so cute with some humor here and there. Definitely a good read.

• Bone Crier's Moon by Kathryn Purdie: This cover is beautiful and definitely involves nature.

• Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham: This is a long series with so much chaos. I had fun with them!

Laura

• Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver for comedy. I head this one was hilarious, but definitely check trigger warnings.

• When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker: I feel like this book would have such a nature feel to it based on the cover.

• The Dark Tower series by Stephen King: This series is 8 books long and looks interesting!

I think I will go with Undead Life (I'm trusting you Brittany!!!) But I really need a series I can commit to in the summer! If I stop by the book store I'll be sure to buy Funny Story and The Poppy War because both look soo good.

message 24: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1805 comments @Laura Thanks for recommending Funny Story. I loved it! Authors books for me were like a rollercoaster, some I liked, the others did not. But there was no perfect book. And finally I found one :) Perfect summer romance with a little bit of everything.
