I can’t read the BOTMs this month, but unless you can, I think just let it be

Uh, same even I can't...
But no- what I meant was that - should we select a person from the members- (not us)- as in someone should volunteer and then that person should lead the discussion?
We'll leave this month be as it is though.

I'm kinda busy with the books and music lovers group, but i assure you i won't neglect this group! I hope you forgive me lol. The ex mod of books and music lovers group left it in chaos and now the new mods are trying to fix it and revive it! It will take almost a week for it to be on track, but after that, i will give equal attention t both groups. I hope you understand!

In the meantime if there's anything you need me to do, tell me!

No problem, I understand. (Oh, I didn't know. That's really sad...I'm kinda busy with exams, but I'll try to help you whenever I'm free too- with the other group.)

also, can you tell me more on what the monthly newsletters are supposed to be about? 🫣

SO I saw two different groups do it in two ways:

One:
They made a topic unders mods and recorded/wrote everything that happened in a month. Like new members joining, new polls, events they did, new mods, upcoming events, etc and then broadcasted that message using this option: "Broadcast a message to all members"

Example: here's the fiction addiction newsletter
Hellooo, we are done with March! Finally, right? Anyway, that means that our nominees are picked and the newsletters are being sent out.

We have had SO MUCH growth this month so I thank all of you and give a special big thanks to our moderators that keep this group in order and organized. I say this every month but I appreciate everyone here, thank you for making this group what it is <3

Anyway, let's stop with the emotion and start with our updates:
- The group name was changed from "I need a bigger shelf" to " fiction addiction"
- april's voting for best author and best novel starts today and will be posted once I send this out.
- april's voting results will be released sometime at the end (i'll try to get the newsletter going in the last week of april)
- reminder to keep reading! reading increases your empathy and helps you have more understanding of people feelings.

I don't think so a lot of people dont write and those who do it's extremely niche fanfictions, so a lot of people won't necessarily read it

I think we should have like recommendations of the month topic where we recommend books based on current events, for eg we can recommend a book about palestine or other stuff happening around the world

Nope, this group is perfect.

@phidelia yeah, I like the idea of making it more mood-readerish. But there’s not a lot of writers, let alone in this group on GR except authors. There’s this one group- The Future Authors Society, and it’s a bunch of unpublished writers, mostly teens if you’re looking for that :)

Also, reading based on what's happening around the world is kinda interesting 🤔...

Um, but, we should probably have a longer duration as more people can participate...and we can have a better idea of what most people want to read (as last month- barely anyone read Flowers for Algernon or no one really discussed it)

Well, I guess you can have one of the stand-alone and one of the series the highest voted and the runner-up if you want
