Is Brexit just an excuse?

I know a British author who lives in France. She started having issues with deliveries after Brexit - a huge jump in costs. Have you tried with a different printer? Ingram-Spark? And I don't know where Draft2Digital is with paper copies, but I believe they were trying to get that service going.
Funny you mention that, Eileen… I was just googling Ingram Spark. I had never heard of it. I think you can tell, I’m pretty new at this. It’s just frustrating when you get to the point of being published. Pen is down. Marketing brain is starting to develop… And, then there’s a glitch. It doesn’t really make sense. It’s not as though Amazon doesn’t make money from our small nation. It just feels like an excuse.
I shall follow your advice and look at all options
Thank you ❤️

I've found being a writer mean learning a whole lot of skills that aren't actually writing! Good luck!
I've used Draft2Digital for all six of my thrillers. .They're both in ebook and hard copy form. Never had any issues with the company.
Thanks, SteveI’m really at the learning stage where advice is invaluable. I’m definitely going to look into it. I should have known there would be kinks along the way.
So grateful for your input

I really need a little advice. Last week I was so excited to have my book published on Amazon and Kindle. It was launched through an agent, so I had nothing to do with the set up.
That was all great. Did the usual push through social media and told all my family/friends. I thought there was a delay with the paperback edition - as it was showing that it wasn’t available. Leaving it for a few days, I finally contacted Amazon.
Amazon (UK) said that because of Brexit, the paperback edition wouldn’t be sent to Ireland - where I live.
But how come I can get the hardback sent? I asked.
Some products are more difficult to send than others and I could order the paperback through Germany (with extra shipping costs), they said.
So, meanwhile I had ordered Author’s copies through the same provider and, lo and behold, they sent me the paperback edition.
I am flummoxed. Do I get back on to Amazon telling them to get their finger out? Or, do I just accept it and hope they decide to print it at a later date?
Has anyone had an experience like this before?
I would be grateful for your feedback
King regards
Gwen
