I want to suggest The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides but I don't know if it is suitable for a 15 year old.

I mean I don't remember any sexual things going on... know that I wrote this I remember the description of a female character skin... but it did not feel like it was something 18+

Maybe go for Agatha Christie?

so if he did not have this book and never read it then buy it for him it is a thriller book and very amazing as well.

Inheritance games is a thriller/mystery. I'm not a fan of that genre, but I enjoyed these books.

yes! the inheritance games or maybe a good girls guide to murder? theyre ya, so theres nothing explicit, and i loved both of them! if you want something more thrillery, my favourite book of that genre is rock paper scissors. i still cant get over the plot twist!

The Naturals is really good imo

We Were Liars, maybe? it is kind of a mystery, but more suspense rather than thrill.

The Naturals is a murder mystery series, he might like it, but the main character might be hard for him to connect to if he is not used to a female character’s perspective.
