I have read the book and watched the movie and enjoyed both. The movie was a bit disappointing but still fun. I look forward to our discussion about this book on April 30th at 7 pm EST.
I read Lessons in Chemistry a couple months ago and enjoyed it. The character Elizabeth reminds me of the Temperance Brennan role in Bones; focused, driven and socially awkward.
A movie? wow did not know. Will have to explore,Good book did not make my top 5 of the past year. BTW I am still reading One for the Blackbirds one for the Crow, on kindle so good!
Reading seems to take soooo much more time then audible.
I agree, Janet! Sitting down to read a hard copy always takes me longer. It helps that I can speed up the audible which I always do!
This was a fun read. Although, I am not really sure about the dog. I was able to deal with him if I viewed him as a narrator but that was a bit strange.
I love that Elizabeth did not change who she was for anyone. I loved that about her! And of course she is a quirky nerd just like me!

I enjoyed the audible of this book. I watched the mini series, and I have to say I was disappointed. The actors were very good, but some of the embellishments away from the book were poor choices I felt. just my thoughts on it.

A lot of people have said that about the series. I haven't seen it yet but I probably will eventually.

Stacy, I have never thought of you as a quirky nerd, a spit fire yes! Nerd NO!
I finished the book today. I had not listed to an audiobook in some time, so this was a nice change.First I want to say, that I am glad that we have progressed in a lot of ways toward women in the workplace. There is still room for improvement, but good to see.
There were some little idiosyncrasies that carried through that were thoughtful. How 6:30 gave each person their own timed name. How Elizabeth was never without a No. 2 pencil. How the narrator annunciated on Elizabeth's behalf, "Good, God"!
I could see where they could move forward with a TV show. It would be interesting to see how it compares. In all, a good read/listen!

And how many of you have seen the movie (on Apple+)? Did you think the movie was a good representation of the book?
