I'm not very far in yet but it's helping me deconstruct somethings... Fundamentalist upbringing... It can be triggering at times for me because it's relatable. In some ways it's not. Like it sounds like they weren't physically abused. There dad despite alcoholism was gentle and kind. Patient. I don't want to spoil it too much. Still reading.
