What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Ugh!!! I’ve checked everywhere for this one.

It started as a joke where one day I was complaining about the smell of the oil refineries in Pasadena or Deer Park, Tx. Another author and I were commenting on unlikely settings for romances and she mentioned that there was a romance novel where a rich oil man was looking for love and lived in Pasadena and ate meals at a chain restaurant.

I may not care for my place of birth, Houston, but they know good food. Chinatown is amazing, the bbq, soul food, Mexican, and steak places are really good.

The author and I joked about how most rich oil people live in swank places like River Oaks, the Woodlands, etc.., not a place known for bad smelling refineries.

She said she met the author at an event and the author wasn’t a local. She suggested that we could offer a little free advice on local color in the Houston area and the author got a little upset.

Neither my author buddy or I could remember the book title or the author’s name.

Please help us remember 🙂

How long ago was this? Was the author male or female?

The author is female. It’s probably five to ten years. Sorry the details are so fuzzy.
