May 2024 Mini Challenge - LET'S CELEBRATE...
Begins: 01May24 / Ends: 31May24

There’s a lot to celebrate in May. The Kentucky Derby, Mother's Day, Cinco de Mayo, graduations. But I looked at some lesser-known holidays for inspiration for this month's challenge tasks.

* World Password Day - Read a book with a compound word in title (BONUS for any "special character" such as & or #, included in the title as well.)

* International No Diet Day - Read a book with a sweet treat on the COVER (be sure to post the cover image)

* National Wine Day - Read a book with any specific wine mentioned by name in it. For example: Chardonay, Merlot, Champagne (cite the quote)

* National Solitaire Day - Read a standalone book, whose title begins with a letter in SOLITAIRE (Exclude: A, An, The)

* World Turtle Day - Read a book by an author whose first and last initials are in WORLD TURTLE DAY. (Middle initials, if used, can be ignored. Letters may be used only so often as they appear in the target phrase.)

===========================================

RULES OF THE CHALLENGE

All books used must be a minimum of 100 pages long - Page length determined by HARDCOVER 1st edition. If there is no Hardcover, then the most popular paperback governs page #.

You may read in any format - text, audio or e-book.

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for completing a task.

A book may be used for only one task, even if it would satisfy the challenge for multiple tasks.

EXAMPLE of a successful post:
Book with a BLUE cover: Young Nick's Head by Karen Hesse - ✔ - 31Jan23

If you'd like to be recognized as finishing the challenge, please post a new comment alerting me to your finish. I do not get notifications when you edit your original post.

As always, have Fun!

* World Password Day - Read a book with a compound word in title (BONUS for any "special character" such as & or #, included in the title as well.)--We All Go A Little Dad Sometimes by Shane K. Morton--finished 5/22/24

* International No Diet Day - Read a book with a sweet treat on the COVER (be sure to post the cover image)--Torn Asunder by Barbara Ross--finished 12/2/2024 Torn Asunder (Maine Clambake Mystery, #12) by Barbara Ross

* National Wine Day - Read a book with any specific wine mentioned by name in it. For example: Chardonay, Merlot, Champagne (cite the quote)--To Fall in Love, Drink This: A Wine Writer's Memoir by Alice Feiring--finished 11/27/2024--The whole book is about wine, but I will pick one sentence--pg. 30--Physically, it's the mirror image of Burgundy, but the wines are fresher. Their most famous wine, and most expensive, is Vin Jaune. a wine made like an unfortified sherry--meaning it develops a yeast veil called "flor" that protects the wine as it loses its fruit and intensifies over the years until it's bottled.

* National Solitaire Day - Read a standalone book, whose title begins with a letter in SOLITAIRE (Exclude: A, An, The)--Two Dukes are Better Than One by Lorna James--finished 5/3/2024

* World Turtle Day - Read a book by an author whose first and last initials are in WORLD TURTLE DAY. (Middle initials, if used, can be ignored. Letters may be used only so often as they appear in the target phrase.)--My Daddies Are Mobsters by Aster Rae--finished 5/2/2024
