Hi Everyone! My name is Ashray Jha and I have just published my first book So you want to be a Superinvestor? Being a first time author, I feel like writing the book was the easy part and marketing is the hard part. Every book that I have read on the subject of marketing and getting reviews says I need to be on goodreads but does not say how to effectively market your book and get reviews on goodreads I would love to start a discussion where people can share their best practices for using goodreads and getting reviews for your book.

First off congrats of birthing your baby. And yes, marketing for all of is the challenge - consider Amazon has 28 million books in its inventory. You need reviews for both Amazon and Goodreads. Most Amazon buyers are clueless about Goodreads. I started by asking all my friends to write a review even if a sentence. I would f/u a month later and then I just let it go. People get busy and forget, etc. Book clubs are a a great group to get multiple reviews from. Also if you are in a writers group ask them. On the journey with ya, Nicole (You Are Deathless).
Thanks... I feel like simply asking on forums and bookclubs is the way to go but I feel awkward just asking people who I don't know to do a favor and review my book. I feel there is a right way to go about asking for reviews on Goodreads. Is there a good way to go about asking for reviews on this site?
