Kniha o městě dam
Mt. Ararat:The Intimacy Experiment ⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2021
📚📮📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
I didn't really love the first book in the duology, but over the years I talked myself into thinking that I was just in a funk when I read it, turns out that the author's style might not just be for me.
Worth Her Weight in Gold ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my tbr since 2023
📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙
Loved this, amazing short-story!
River of Teeth ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2023
🧠📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙
I'm really falling in love with Sarah Gailey. This was great!
Taste of Marrow ⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2023
📜->🐙🐙🐙
I liked the first book in the duology better but this was still pretty amazing. Second series in a year finished! That really makes me feel good about myself 🤭
Two Scoops Of Hellfire ⭐⭐⭐,5 On my TBR since 2022
📮 -> 🐙
Kimberly Lemming is a good time, even though I am wondering if I shouldn't give up on her work since I always end up frustrated with it just a little bit. I guess not, since I have two more of her books on my tbr...
Something Fabulous ⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2021
📚📮📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
This was completely ridiculous and I loved it so much! Now only if GR stopped glitching and let me post my review.
Bringing Down the Duke ⭐⭐⭐⭐On my TBR since 2023
🧠📮 -> 🐙🐙
Pretty amazing, I didn't love one of the tropes it uses toward the end though.
My Life Had Stood a Loaded Gun ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Owned since 2023
📚📕 -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙
I feel like this wasn't the best possible selection of Dickinson's poetry, but there were still some gems. First physical book finished! I really hope to do better than last year where physical books are concerned...
Born in a Second Language ⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2022
📚-> 🐙🐙
Trying to read more poetry this year and this was pretty amazing! Focus on colonialism and language. Definitely will read more by this author if she publishes.
Harrow the Ninth ⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2023
🧠👂🏽📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
Not really know what to say, this was hard to get through. The series still didn't fully win me over, but I'm going to read the next book.
The Creation of Feminist Consciousness: From the Middle Ages to Eighteen-seventy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Owned since 2022
📚📕⌛📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
Amazing book, even though it kind of took me forever to get through.
Elatsoe ⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2022
📚👂🏽📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
Really lovely book, enjoyed reading it so much! The ending was just a little bit underwhelming though.
The Empress of Salt and Fortune ⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2021
📚📮📜 -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
This has been on my TBR for ever and I admit that I expected something a little bit different, but this was still highly enjoyable. Looking forward to the next installment in the series!
Krvavá svatba / Bodas de sangre Owned since 2023 ⭐⭐⭐
📕 -> 🐙🐙🐙
This was a pretty random library sale purchase. I mostly bought it because it was small, fit into your pocket format and I liked the feel of the book. I also never read anything by this author before and he was gay, so... yeah. That was the motivation. I pretty much enjoyed it, even though the ending was very underwhelming and I just didn't love the direction it went it. A lot of loveable things about it though.
Nejrudější růže rozkvétá ⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2022
📕⌛ -> 🐙🐙🐙🐙
I liked Fruit Of Knowledge: The Vulva vs. The Patriarchy better...

Claws and Contrivances ⭐⭐⭐⭐ On my TBR since 2023

Really didn't love this one. Really disappointed with this one since I hoped to cement my love for the author.
Mary Poppins Comes Back On my TBR since... forever? My GR says 2023, but that's not accurate of how long I wanted to read it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚📜👂🏽-> 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
Basically the first book 2.0 which was a bit disappointing but I did enjoy it.
Out on a Limb On my TBR since 2023 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚📮 -> 🐙🐙🐙
There were a lot of little things that bothered me and I didn't fully resonated with the protagonists, but overall it was lovely and I really think we need more romances like that.

Copying the rules from my previous thread:
I broke some rules while climbing Pike's Peak last year (we still shall see if I make it to the end!), this year I just decided to re-make the rules completely (please don't throw me out of the group 🙈). My reading habits are a bit different than this challenge expects, so it doesn't work that great for me hence making my own rules and sticking to them this time.
Rule n. 1: For book to apply it has to be on some of my tbrs - that means, listen on GR (either on shelf to-read or keeping-in-mind), downloaded on my kindle and/or computer, downloaded/owned as an audio file, listed on some of my other tbr lists (we'll get to this) BEFORE 2024 starts.
This will be harder to check on the downloads and kindle, but I hope I can make this work.
Rule n. 2: To win this challenge there need to be 10 books read from my physical tbr (📕) - at least half of the books should be owned prior to the beginning of 2024, but I can make some exceptions as long as the book has been on my radar before the beginning of the year.
Rule n.3: There will be a point system (yes, I'm clearly very serious about this).
Point system:
1. 📚 Book from my GR to-read shelf is for 🐙🐙
(yes, I'm giving myself octopus points, because I feel like it at the moment!)
2. 🧠 Book from my keeping-in-mind shelf is for 🐙
3. 📮 Book that I already have on kindle (or have e-book/pdf of) is +🐙 (if I don't have it on any list otherwise, it's just that one 🐙)
4. 👂🏽 Book that I own an audio for +🐙🐙 (I can only get octopuses for either kindle or audio, not both for one book)
5. 📕 Book that I physically own +🐙🐙 (If I only own it and forgot to list it at GR, I get 🐙🐙🐙).
6. 📜 If the book is on my Master-list-tbr for 2024, I get... +🐙🐙 (I'll like that here once that's definitely done. If I don't have it listed elsewhere it gets 🐙🐙🐙)
https://www.listchallenges.com/2024-r...
7. ⌛ Books that are from my on-hiatus shelf, that I previously attempted and didn't finish or that got stuck on my currently-reading shelf for a time that I estimate as "long" will get at least +🐙 (might get more on the amount of effort that I'll have to make to finish them).
This means that for a book I can get from 🐙 to 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙 (7) Is that too much? I guess we shall see. If the amounts doesn't work I reserve the right to change the rules 😂😂😂
Rule n. 4: To win, I need to get... 180 🐙? (I know it might not look like it, but I'm not that great at math, so we shall see if this is an easy goal, or too hard one. If I need to read more books than 48 to make that goal, I guess that's fine.
Edit: I clearly calculated this really well since upon archiving the goal of 48 books I had about 183 🐙 SO with increasing the goal to 100 how about we made it a bit more interesting and made the goal... 400? Is it a stretch? Let's see...
