I have been reading a lot of heavy stuff lately and maybe kinda need a break. Any spice free or closed door contemporary romance recs?
(I have read all of Lynn painters ya books and loved those)

Kylin Swearingen | 11 comments Sarah Adams has awesome closed door romances! The Cheat Sheet, When In Rome, and Practice Makes Perfect are all amazing. I also am reading Love and Gelato, and I think it’s going to be super cute.

Stefan Lindström | 2 comments I took a real gamble at my latest read, but that was pure joy.:
Waters of the Wadi by Eva Karin Lindström

The book builds up slowly, starting out in a more or less everyday setting. The protagonist, a 30-ish woman, starts out in an everyday setting, but as the story evolves, it becomes increasingly fantastical, and the characters evolve with the situation. It's all beautifully executed.

I believe it is an art form to construct easily flowing, accessible sentences, and here is finally an author how is considerate in that respect. Clearly, the target audience are women, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

My recommendation without reservation.

izzy of the hollow † (izzyofthehollow) | 7 comments Heyy does anyone have any book reccos?

I would maybe try the American Royals if you like Jennifer Lynn Barnes. It’s a high life+ high drama that’s clean. I also think the writing style is kinda similar. Or have you read any of Holly Jackson’s stuff? If you want more of the drama stuff of those books go for American royals. But if you want more of the mystery aspect go for Holly Jackson’s stuff.

Does anyone have any books that are similar to the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue that are actually good. I don’t care if the plot is similar, just the vibes

Heartless by Elsie Silver has a character who’s a single dad, the FMC is a nanny for his kid, it’s set in a small town and has a lot of spice too

Maisy⸆⸉(GFB) | 3 comments Does anyone know of some thrillers that are really suspenseful but not scary? I don’t mind a bit of gore but I don’t want it to be too graphic or creepy.

Riley Sager and Freida McFadden’s stuff tend to super suspenseful and will have you finishing the book in one sitting, but most of them aren’t scary. My favorites are Never Lie, Lock Every Door, and The Only One Left.
