In the middle of wasteland 4, the Junkyard is where most of the Killjoys get extra scrap metal and things like that.

Arsenic was sitting cross legged on an old car with a book in her hands. She was there mostly because not many people often went there and she could be alone for once. Not that many people would try and talk to her but sometimes the killjoys could just be so annoying!

She pushed some hair behind her ear and soon began to think about other things. That's when she looked down and realized that a giant spider was calling up her arm. She screamed and fell off the car in a flailing attempt to get the spider off of her.

Arsenic quickly got up and blushed slightly when she saw him out of embarrassment. "I- um, c-could you s-say that a-again?" She seemed to be having trouble speaking.

She nodded after reading his lips. Arsenic Island hoped that he didn't find her looking at his lips awkward. "I'm f-fine." She then sighed, wishing that this could be easier. "I'm-" she paused, trying to think of how to pronounce deaf, "d-d-deaf."

She nodded. "Er-yes." She picked up the book from the hood of the car and hugged it to her chest. "I c-can read lips... m-mostly."

"T-there was a giant spider," she explained, "j-just crawling up my arm." Arsenic made a face.

She nodded. "Good thing too, I h-hate spiders." Arsenic was starting to get more comfortable speaking. "A-anyways, I'm Arsenic."

She smiled. "N-nice to meet you too." She pushed some hair out of her face. "So why we you here?"

"I w-was reading. N-no offence, but Killjoys can be a-annoying." Arsenic smiled. "A-and BLI doesn't often come here."

"Um... Pride and P-prejudice," she said. "It's pretty old, but the c-classics are the best." She held out the book for him to see.

"It's set in nineteenth century England where in a small town Mr Bingley and his friend Mr. Darcy move in to the town. They're both incredibly rich and while Mr Bingley finds a liking to one of the five Bennet daughters Mr Darcy clashed with another. My other used to love it and I thought I might as well give it a try."

Arsenic made a face. "I personally don't really like it. But my mom loved the old thing so I'm trying my b-best to get into it."

"Y-yeah but she had been nagging me forever before all this happened and they were r-robotized." Arsenic shrugged. "So it feels like I o-owe her it."

Arsenic shrugged. "Well she's my mom, I have to be nice. And u-unlike most people, I like t-to be nice." She scanned the area around them boredly.

"Well we at least need someone in this world to be a g-good person." She chuckled. "We can't have a bunch of assholes walking around and killing each other without thought."

"True." Arsenic sighed and sat on the hood of the car once more, setting her book down beside her. She ran a hand through her hair and said simply, "People are idiots, me included."
