Finished this today and feeling mighty accomplished! This has been on my shelf for years and what a feeling to have actually read this.
Is this Kings best? I don't think so but I really enjoyed it anyway.
The relationship between Jake and Sadie never felt fully authentic to me so I wasn't as emotionally connected to the story as I would have liked.
But once you jump in it's hard to put this down - unless of course you're reading the 4lb paperback like I was.
I wasn't a big fan of the post-apocalyptic scene when Jake gets back to 2011, and then Harry recounts the horrible spiral of the 20th century after Kennedy survives. It's too much of a Back to the Future Part II for me. Also the book is way too long. My paperback was 740 pages and it would have been much better at a trim 300.
