The official poster for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, by illustrator Ugo Gattoni.

In an inclusive approach, Paris 2024 has opted for a pair of posters that complement each other. The Paris 2024 posters were created in conjunction with French illustrator Ugo Gattoni. One poster celebrates the Summer Games of the XXXIII Olympiad (from July 26 to August 11), and the other announces the event reserved for disabled athletes (from August 28 to September 8).

When juxtaposed, the two merge into a single image, which depicts a fantasy city that also serves as a gigantic stadium, within which sit the capital’s monuments, symbols of France, various Paris 2024 competition venues and several different sports and key figures.

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Oh gosh, the very, extremely unrealistic way I want to go for all the years 😅 I'm considering of going for countries instead though. Does 21 in 3 months sound plausible? I mean, it's seven per month....

I guess, I still have 3 more days to figure something out.
-----

Since I won't be reading anything associated with this challenge in July, nor the better part of August, I've decided to go for 10. Nice round number, that should be achievable in one month and a half... why not.

I mean....reading marathons kind of lack the physicality, but on the other hand, they are kind of competitive, require skills, such as strategic thinking, and unwavering focus, and you have to hydrate throughout, so.... 😀

8/3 I have read 18 books since this challenge started and not one has matched any of the dates needed. Because I'm having eye surgeries in August and my reading will slow way down, I've decided to drop out of this challenge. It just wasn't meant to be!

I'd like to join for 10 books, and I'll be focusing on publishing dates :)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Out of curiosity, how do you go about choosing what you'll be reading for a challenge like this, which has many entry-points? Do you do research all the options?

- If you're focusing on the sports list: is it based on interest or popularity, or a mix of both?

- If you're going by cities/countries: why that precise location?

- If you're going by the years: Is there a particular significance to the choice, or is it more of a blind choosing?

Me too! We had an "Every Year" year-long challenge a few years back, that was all about reading books from every year since the year you where born. Man I loved that challenge so much!

Country -based challenges are also a favorite here - I always feel like I discover amazing literature from countries I wouldn't otherwise have come across, or gravitate toward without the incentive.

Good luck with your challenge! Looking forward to seeing what countries/cities you'll be picking 😊

Karin | 272 comments I'm signing up late. I don't usually read books that involve sports, but am reading one where there are two members of a swim team (the protagonists) and realized that this will be easier for me to accomplish than I'd thought since I'm sure this will happen again. I'll start with a goal of 5 books.

I'm not sure I would qualify the 4th of the month as being late in any way, Karin 😉

Also, congratulations on already having finished your first book. Here's to many more in the upcoming months.
Looking forward to seeing what you'll be reading throughout the month 😊
