This is fabulous! I started this book about three years ago, and got distracted. Now is the time, apparently, to remedy that!
I'll have to check it out. Currently, according to the online library catalog, my library's copy is being fixed/mended. unfortunate, since I'm going today.
Ooh... maybe I'll be able to join the discussion. I'll have to see if I can get a copy of this book.
Also just a reminder to everyone, make sure you use spoiler tabs, and mark what chapter it's for. For example: Chapter one (view spoiler)
I just got a copy from the library, and I want to start it, but I've got another library book with a lot of holds, so that has to get read first.
I love the book! I read it for school in 9th grade- and I didn’t really get much out of it. Rereading it this year for 10th grade was FABULOUS!!
Haven't started it yet. I just started one of my other BOTMs last night. Whenever I finish one of the five books I'm reading, I'll prob start it.
I'm really enjoying it! I think it's well written and my only complaint is that I would like to get into the characters heads a little more. Not looking forward to the end iykyk.
I think I'm on page 60. So far this book hasn't just grabbed my attention, it is very interesting tho. I'm also glad that the majority of the bad language isn't in english. lol
Same! I am amazed at how often they use language.I do find the writing interesting, and I like the lyrical style. Hans Hubberman is by far my favorite.
Yeah Hans is pretty awesome. It's Rosa's language the most. She never opens her mouth without bad language coming out, and she opens her mouth quite a lot. lol
The best description of Rosa XD I think something else I love, are the descriptions of the sky. It has started to make me ponder the colors of different settings.
Unfortunately I know enough German to understand all the cussing. The Germans are obsessed with calling each other pigs lol!Has anyone watched the movie The Book Thief?
I need to start this. Maybe today or tomorrow? Idk. I want to read it while you're still all reading it tho.

I've seen the movie! It was what made me decide I'd like to try the book.
I read up to "The Jesse Ownes Incident" last night. To clarify, that was the last chapter I read. I'm really enjoying it so far. It's certainly got a completely different vibe than any other book I've read. Death is an interesting narrator.

I finished The Book Thief today, and my review will be out later. I'll add it here after I write it.
You could post the link to your review. I don’t wanna read that until after I finish but the updates are fine I think, as long as there aren’t spoilers
Um, well, there are 2 spoilers in my review, though one was more so for a content warning. And I'm pretty sure some of my updates had spoilers, but I don't remember exactly if they did, so....
(This might be slightly spoilerish, so....)In Chapter 58 it mentioned 3 boys being completely undressed, and it mentioned their "unmentionables" so to say. I'm not sure how much it did say, though, because after the first couple of words, I skipped the rest of the chapter.
The last thing I read was the first chapter of part three. I didn't read any yesterday, but I plan to today, especially since I finished Tress of the Emerald Sea, which I was reading for the BOTM of another group.
I finished the book thief today! I really liked it but I've loved the movie for years so I'm not surprised. Btw if you haven't watched the movie it's really really good. It's also way cleaner than the book.
Side note. Chapter 58 is unnecessary to the story. The only thing you need to know is Liesel starts feeling attracted to Rudy.
There are no chapter numbers in the copy I'm reading, Anyway, the last one I read was "A Short History of the Jewish Fist-Fighter."
My copy doesn't have chapter numbers either but I was also listening to the audiobook that did so that helped me keep track.
Ah, I see. It's kind of annoying, because usually when I'm reading something for a BOTM, I can say what chapter I'm on, but not with this one.
