How to Participate:

The Audiobook Challenge is designed to not only help you to read your audiobooks, but to also find out about other great audiobooks from other challenge participants!

Though you may pop in/out at any time, the Audiobook Challenge will run on a monthly basis so you are able to see progress being made.

There are no minimum page requirements, and you can read abridged or unabridged audiobooks!

1. At the beginning of the month, post :
a: How many audiobooks in total you want to read for the month
b: How many audiobooks in the monthly category you want to read
c: Post the audiobooks (as you decide on them) by linking them to Goodreads in your post

2. During the month, read the audiobooks that you can AND update your post with your reviews. (You can do this after each book or wait until the end of the month.)

3. At the end of the month, update your post and with:
a: What books you read
b: Link(s) to your review(s) - note: can only be linked to Goodreads and not an external site
c: How many audiobooks you have read for this challenge this year

Then start a new post for the next month!

The Persian Boy (Alexander the Great, #2) by Mary Renault - beautifully written - 4.5 stars
Of Love and Other Demons by Gabriel García Márquez - also beautifully written but enough ick for now, lol - 3 stars

Yes! But it's a great book, so that shouldn't be much of a hardship 😉

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13143 comments Mmmmm... points!

I've been thinking of re-reading a Dickens or two for this challenge as well. Already re-read Barnaby and Christmas Carol this year, and Dorritt and Great Expectations last year.
Still lots of fun options though! 😁

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 13143 comments You know... I think I might re-read A Tale of Two Cities. It's my least favourite Dickens alongside Martin Chuzzlewit (a relative term, because even my least favourite Dickens is considerably better than most of the other drivel I read 😆), I've had quite a bit of success with upping my ratings of his books on a re-read, and I really hope this one will be the same (not sure Chuzzlewit would meet with the same success though...)

And Thomas Hardy! Sooooo many of his books I want to re-read. And the current BOM is making me want to re-read Jane Eyre too. 😁

Nowhere, that's where.... lol

Normally, books on my wishlist are hardly ever on sale (I flatter myself that's because of my distinguished taste -giggles), so of course I had to rush in and check. Of course their idea of sale doesn't always coincide with mine, but this time there are a lot of them.

Melindam | 8503 comments Despite not managing to read a book for the designated theme, I just checked my Audible stats and 2024 June was a record for me in listening time. I managed 96,2 hours and 2024 is the year when more than half my books are in the audio format! 🥳

Usually, my average listening time is between 50-60 hours/month and if I got lucky, I did manage 70 or 80 hours, but these are the exception.

July, August and December are my "down-time" when I am spending more time with my family b/c of vacation/holidays and for some reason they expect me to listen to them or occasionally to talk to them. 🤭😅
