Is Perachel (Percy x Rachel) really that bad?

Rachel literally said the only reason she liked Percy was because he opened the door the Greek Mythological world. If they did have a romance, one of them would have broken up with the other (most likely Rachel dumping Percy) sooner or later and it would have let to a whole lot of heartbreak. Any romance between them was doomed before it started.
Percabeth for life. Percabeth and only Percabeth. Percy is MADE for Annabeth. They are just so cute together and I don’t think Rachel can give Percy what Annabeth gives him. I don’t think Rachel would se Percy as a part of her. An annoying part sometimes, but a part of her she can’t live without. Rachel wouldn’t understand Percy. She didn’t solve the lightning problem with Percy. She didn’t save Grover with Percy. She didn’t hold the sky. She surely didn’t survive the horror labyrinth with Percy and they actually also could have taken Sally as their guide, it’s not about Rachel, it’s about seeing through the mist. Rachel didn’t “fight” Kronos with Percy. And from then, she couldn’t date anybody anymore because she was the oracle. But let’s continue. Rachel wasn’t the one who was worried sick about Percy. She wasn’t the one Percy thought about during his time at new Rome. She wasn’t the one who judo-flipped Percy and made him laugh with that. Rachel wasn’t the girl who told Percy she loved him (like with these words). And she didn’t go through Tartarus with Percy. She didn’t defeat the Giants with him. Rachel is a mortal. She can’t do what Annabeth can (fighting, going on quests etc) and she just isn’t enough for Percy. He doesn’t really deserve Annabeth but he deserves better that Rachel. I like Rachel but her actions are limited.

Percahel isn’t a bad ship. It think it's actually kind of cute, and the two are kind of compatible. Their personalities fit. And I think everyone would ship them... if Annabeth didn’t exist.
An actual quote from the book: "I can't pretend I hadn't thought about Rachel. She was so much easier to be around than . . . well, than some other girls I knew. I didn't have to work hard, or watch what I said, or rack my brain trying to figure out what she was thinking. Rachel didn't hide much. She let you know how she felt."
But unfortunately, Perachel stands in the shadows of Percabeth. What are your thoughts?
